Dr. Nicole Lai Lanza is an ophthalmologist with specialized training in cornea and external disease. She cares for patients with a wide range of corneal conditions, performs cataract surgery, and provides comprehensive eye care, tailoring each treatment plan to a patient’s lifestyle and visual needs. Dr. Lanza is known for her calm, friendly manner and for taking time to explain diagnoses, surgery, and recovery in a way that patients can easily understand. She earned her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Lanza completed her ophthalmology residency and internship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in cornea and external disease at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Before joining Brown University Health, she served as an attending ophthalmologist in a busy Brooklyn cornea practice. Dr. Lanza speaks both English and Spanish and values building long-term relationships with the patients and families she serves.

Crystal L. Zhang, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, refractive surgery, and anterior segment diseases. She was born in China and grew up in Belgium and Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Zhang completed her ophthalmology residency at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and enjoys caring for a diverse patient community. Before joining Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, she practiced at Eye Consultants of Rhode Island in Providence and served as a surgical and clinical instructor at Brown University. She graduated from Northwestern University with a full academic scholarship and attended Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Zhang is a member of the American Medical Association and American Academy of Ophthalmology. In her free time, she is a foodie who loves to try new cuisine and travel to National Parks.
