Portland, ORDr. Lynn W. Sun is a glaucoma specialist at the OHSU Casey Eye Institute who provides both medical and surgical care for patients across the spectrum of glaucoma. She earned a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at Stanford University and an M.D. from Loyola University Chicago. She completed ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a subspecialty glaucoma fellowship at the University of Michigan. Dr. Sun focuses on delivering evidence-based treatment plans that balance eye pressure control with quality of life, offering traditional procedures as well as the most promising minimally invasive options. She enjoys educating patients about their diagnosis and partnering on long-term care plans that fit their daily routines. Dr. Sun is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is active in the American Glaucoma Society and ARVO. She speaks Mandarin Chinese and sees patients at OHSU’s Marquam Hill and Vancouver locations.

Dr. Michael Gale
Glaucoma Specialist
Portland, ORMichael Gale, MD, is a glaucoma specialist at OHSU’s Casey Eye Institute who cares for both adults and children with all forms of glaucoma. He works closely with patients and families to explain the disease, outline options, and choose the least invasive approach that can safely protect vision. Depending on each person’s needs, Dr. Gale offers medications, laser procedures, minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries and, when indicated, traditional operations. Dr. Gale’s interests include pediatric glaucoma and community eye health, and he enjoys collaborating with primary eye doctors and other specialists to manage complex or secondary glaucomas. He completed ophthalmology residency at OHSU and advanced fellowship training in glaucoma at the University of California, Davis. Outside of clinic and surgery, he’s active in education and enjoys the outdoors. Dr. Christine Petersen
Glaucoma Specialist
Medford, ORDr. Christine Petersen is a board-certified ophthalmologist and cataract and glaucoma specialist. She provides cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology care in addition to medical, laser, and surgical management of glaucoma. Dr. Petersen was born and raised in southern Idaho. She received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Oregon University and attended medical school at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Washington and a fellowship in glaucoma at the University of California Los Angeles Stein Eye Institute. She then returned to the University of Washington and served as an Assistant Professor, maintaining a busy clinical and surgical practice while performing research and teaching medical students and residents. Dr. Petersen is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, baking, and reading.
