Dr. Lynn W. Sun is a glaucoma specialist at the OHSU Casey Eye Institute who provides both medical and surgical care for patients across the spectrum of glaucoma. She earned a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at Stanford University and an M.D. from Loyola University Chicago. She completed ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a subspecialty glaucoma fellowship at the University of Michigan. Dr. Sun focuses on delivering evidence-based treatment plans that balance eye pressure control with quality of life, offering traditional procedures as well as the most promising minimally invasive options. She enjoys educating patients about their diagnosis and partnering on long-term care plans that fit their daily routines. Dr. Sun is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is active in the American Glaucoma Society and ARVO. She speaks Mandarin Chinese and sees patients at OHSU’s Marquam Hill and Vancouver locations.

Michael Gale, MD, is a glaucoma specialist at OHSU’s Casey Eye Institute who cares for both adults and children with all forms of glaucoma. He works closely with patients and families to explain the disease, outline options, and choose the least invasive approach that can safely protect vision. Depending on each person’s needs, Dr. Gale offers medications, laser procedures, minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries and, when indicated, traditional operations. Dr. Gale’s interests include pediatric glaucoma and community eye health, and he enjoys collaborating with primary eye doctors and other specialists to manage complex or secondary glaucomas. He completed ophthalmology residency at OHSU and advanced fellowship training in glaucoma at the University of California, Davis. Outside of clinic and surgery, he’s active in education and enjoys the outdoors. Patients appreciate his calm manner, clear communication, and the comprehensive resources available through the Casey Eye Institute’s team-based model of care.

Dr. Christine Petersen is a board-certified ophthalmologist and cataract and glaucoma specialist. She provides cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology care in addition to medical, laser, and surgical management of glaucoma. Dr. Petersen was born and raised in southern Idaho. She received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Oregon University and attended medical school at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Washington and a fellowship in glaucoma at the University of California Los Angeles Stein Eye Institute. She then returned to the University of Washington and served as an Assistant Professor, maintaining a busy clinical and surgical practice while performing research and teaching medical students and residents. Dr. Petersen is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, baking, and reading.

Dr. Justin Spaulding is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and cataract surgeon dedicated to preserving sight and enhancing quality of life through cutting-edge, personalized care. He is at the forefront of modern glaucoma treatment and advanced cataract surgery, offering one of the broadest ranges of surgical solutions available. His expertise includes a comprehensive portfolio of Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) procedures, which are designed to effectively lower eye pressure and help patients reduce or even eliminate their need for daily eye drops. In addition to glaucoma, Dr. Spaulding is an accomplished cataract surgeon with extensive experience in both routine and complex cases. He offers the full spectrum of premium intraocular lenses, including toric, extended depth of focus, and trifocal lenses, to reduce dependency on glasses. He is particularly excited to offer the Light Adjustable Lens, which allows for non-invasive adjustments after surgery to customize each patient's vision with unprecedented precision. Dr. Spaulding is also an active clinical researcher and published author, contributing to leading journals and presenting at national and international meetings. He is committed to advancing the field through ongoing research, surgical education, and personalized patient care.

Dr. Zoey Stoumbos is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist. She provides comprehensive care for glaucoma, including medical management, laser therapy, and surgical options such as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. Her practice also encompasses general ophthalmology with a focus on cataract surgery, both routine and complex cases. Dr. Stoumbos is deeply committed to her patients, valuing the relationships she builds with them. She has a strong drive to serve others, particularly under-served populations, and has offered medical care in various countries including Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and Nepal.
