Rachel Davis, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon who cares for patients with both functional and cosmetic concerns of the eyelids, orbit, and tear ducts. She offers thoughtful evaluations, explains options in clear language, and tailors treatment plans to each person’s goals and daily life. Patients see her for droopy or heavy lids that impact vision, eyelid lesions that need safe removal, and tearing problems caused by blocked ducts. She also performs precision cosmetic procedures designed to refresh the eyelids and brow with natural-looking results. Dr. Davis completed medical school at Case Western Reserve University, ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and an Oculofacial Plastic Surgery and Orbital Disease fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital. Before medicine, she graduated at the top of her class from UC Berkeley. Outside clinic, she enjoys exploring Northeast Ohio and baking for family and friends.

Dr. Courtney Kauh is a board-certified oculoplastic surgeon dedicated to providing personalized care for eyelid and facial conditions. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, she combines her artistic eye with surgical precision, influenced by her background as the daughter of a professional photographer. Her medical journey began at the University of Toledo College of Medicine, where she excelled academically and was inducted into the AOA medical honor society. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan, earning the Make A Difference Award for her patient care. Dr. Kauh then pursued a fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, training under a former ASOPRS president. After serving as an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University for over four years, she founded Columbus Eyelid Plastic Surgery to focus on direct patient-centered care. Dr. Kauh specializes exclusively in plastic and reconstructive surgery around the eyes, offering both surgical and non-surgical treatments. She is committed to teaching and continues to mentor residents, ensuring that her patients receive comprehensive and expert evaluations tailored to their individual needs.

Dr. Sruti Akella is an oculoplastic surgeon at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, specializing in performing cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. She believes modern health care includes a true, open dialogue between provider and patient, and she tailors treatment plans while considering each patient's quality of life and future plans. She is passionate about cosmetic surgery and the judicious use of injectables to help turn back the clock. Dr. Akella provides minimally invasive cosmetic injectables such as Botox and facial fillers, as well as performs surgery to correct droopy eyelids, remove excess eyelid skin, and reduce lower lid 'bags.' She also treats orbital tumors, tearing conditions like punctal stenosis and nasolacrimal duct obstructions, and eyelid conditions including ptosis, dermatochalasis, ectropion, entropion and skin cancer. She strongly believes in the benefits of providing multidisciplinary care, which is readily available at The Ohio State University. Having spent her entire career thus far in academic institutions, she is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of physicians. Dr. Akella is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Rosa M. Balcells is a board-certified, fellowship-trained oculoplastic and orbital surgery specialist at Cincinnati Eye Institute. She provides both functional and cosmetic care of the eyelids, orbit, and lacrimal system, with a particular interest in surgical reconstruction after trauma or tumor treatment. Her patient-centered approach emphasizes safety, natural-appearing results, and clear discussion of options, recovery, and long-term eyelid health. Originally from Santiago, Chile, Dr. Balcells completed medical school and ophthalmology residency at Universidad de Chile before a two-year fellowship in Oculoplastics and Orbital Surgery at Cincinnati Eye Institute and the University of Cincinnati. She has held academic roles training residents and fellows and has led national and international oculoplastics efforts. At CEI, she offers the full spectrum of eyelid and lacrimal procedures along with minimally invasive aesthetic treatments.
