Dr. Kira Segal is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. She offers both reconstructive and aesthetic care, with an approach that emphasizes careful planning, natural-looking results, and patient comfort throughout the process. Dr. Segal’s practice interests include eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty and ptosis repair), brow lift procedures, treatment of thyroid eye disease and correction of bulging eyes, reconstruction after Mohs surgery, management of eyelid malposition, and evaluation of tearing disorders. Kevin Heinze, MD, is an oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon who cares for conditions affecting the eyelids, orbit, and tear drainage system. He treats concerns ranging from eyelid lesions and skin cancers to ptosis, eyelid malpositions, and thyroid eye disease, and performs functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery. Lora Glass, MD, is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Medical Center and an Attending Ophthalmologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She is a board-certified ophthalmologist, and completed fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic surgery under the auspices of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Glass has particular clinical expertise in disorders of the eyelids, eyebrows, tear production and drainage systems, and orbital tissues surrounding the eyes in both children and adults. She enjoys working with patients and families to individualize medical and surgical plans that address all functional and cosmetic concerns. Dr. Glass graduated Summa Cum Laude from Harvard College with an A.B. in the Comparative Study of Religion; she was a John Harvard and Harvard College Scholar, and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Her medical degree was awarded at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she pursued additional training in medical ethics, and was elected a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed an internship at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and served on the institutional Ethics Committee while there. Dr. Glass is an active contributor to the field of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. She has written over 80 articles and chapters, and is an active member of the oculoplastics community both nationally and abroad. Valerie H. Chen, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist in Charlotte who has completed a highly regarded American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) two-year fellowship. As a highly skilled ophthalmic plastic surgeon, Dr. Chen rounds out Providence Eye’s commitment to providing procedures to improve people's vision and lifestyle. Dr. Chen is passionate about both the science and art of her work and is dedicated to providing her patients with the best possible care. Her kind and approachable bedside manner ensures that patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment journey. Prior to joining Providence Eye, Dr. Chen was at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she held the title of Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology in the section of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. After many years of medical training, she has set roots down in Charlotte. Dr. Kyle Godfrey is a board-certified, fellowship-trained oculofacial plastic surgeon at Weill Cornell Medicine, dedicated to protecting and restoring vision. Joseph M. Armenia, MD, is an oculoplastic surgeon at OcuSight Eye Care Center who serves patients throughout the Rochester and Webster areas. He specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, tear ducts, and orbit, treating both congenital and age-related issues, thyroid-related eye disease, and cancer or trauma reconstruction.
