Dr. Patrick Rapuano is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at MaineGeneral Eye Center. After a medical internship at Brown University, he completed ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. Prior to joining Maine Eye, he served on the Bascom Palmer faculty as chief resident and director of emergency services and ocular trauma. Dr. Ryan Larochelle is an oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a special focus on the eyelids, orbit, and face. Born and raised in Bangor, Maine, he graduated magna cum laude from Bowdoin College, earned his medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine, and completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Larochelle offers both functional and cosmetic eyelid procedures, brow lifting, injectables, and complex reconstruction after trauma or skin cancer, as well as comprehensive eye care including cataract surgery. Dr. Linda Schumacher-Feero is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has cared for patients in central Maine for many years. Jessica Watson, MD is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina and vitreous. She cares for patients with conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, retinal detachment, and macular degeneration, and she offers both medical and surgical treatment options based on each patient’s needs. Dr. Watson completed fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and ophthalmology residency training at the Scheie Eye Institute. She earned her medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Before joining the Bangor community, she practiced in Portland, Maine. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children and exploring the outdoors.

Brynn N. Wajda, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in oculoplastic and orbital surgery. She provides comprehensive eye care and also focuses on problems involving the eyelids, brow, tear drainage system, and orbit—helping patients with both functional concerns (comfort, vision, and eye protection) and cosmetic goals. Dr. Wajda completed undergraduate studies at Moravian College and attended Jefferson Medical College, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She trained in ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital and later completed fellowship training in oculoplastic and orbital surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. At Retina & Uveitis Consultants of Maine, he focuses on timely evaluation and treatment to help patients protect and restore vision. Dr. Ekong earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed an ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Theodore Curtis is a pediatric ophthalmologist who cares for children and adults with eye disease and vision problems. Dr. Jeffrey L. Berman is a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive care for eye problems in infants and children. He treats conditions such as eye muscle imbalances and blocked tear ducts, and he helps families understand the best path forward—whether that means careful monitoring, office-based treatment, or surgery when needed. Dr. Berman also evaluates and treats strabismus and double vision in adults. He earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency training at Montefiore Medical Center–Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then pursued fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Richard A. Bazarian is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon who focuses on diagnosing and treating complex retinal conditions. Dr. Curt Tyler Young is an ophthalmologist who provides medical and surgical eye care for patients across Northern Maine. He is known for a hands-on, team-based approach in the operating room and takes time to explain diagnoses and treatment options in plain language. Before becoming a physician, Dr. Young began his healthcare career as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Syracuse University, then completed his medical degree at St. Christopher’s College of Medicine in Cambridge, England (2002). He trained in New Orleans with ophthalmology electives at Tulane University and Louisiana State University and completed an internal medicine internship. He later returned to Tulane, where he completed a retina fellowship. Dr. Young returned to Maine to care for friends and neighbors and to continue a long-standing commitment to high-quality eye care, including cataract and retina services.
