Dr. Marielle Mahan is a fellowship-trained oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery, tear duct and orbital surgery, facial reconstruction, and non-surgical aesthetic treatments. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that is tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals. She earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at MedStar Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Mahan further honed her skills through a competitive fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University. Board-certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, she has authored numerous publications and presented her research nationally. Her expertise extends to eyelid and brow surgery, reconstruction after skin cancer, orbital tumors and trauma, and minimally invasive procedures like Botox and dermal fillers. Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Mahan is an accomplished artist who enjoys drawing and traveling, which informs her artistic precision and attention to detail in restoring both function and appearance for her patients.

Dr. Usiwoma Abugo is Director of Oculofacial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Aesthetics at Katzen Eye Group. She treats the full spectrum of eyelid, orbital, and periocular conditions—from functional issues that affect comfort and vision to cosmetic concerns that influence confidence and quality of life. Patients value her balanced approach: she addresses medical needs first and then offers aesthetic options that complement natural facial features. A Baltimore native, Dr. Abugo earned her medical degree at Loyola University Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine, completed ophthalmology residency at Howard University Hospital, and pursued subspecialty training in neuro-ophthalmology and facial plastic & reconstructive orbital surgery at Central Valley Eye Medical Group. Her services include blepharoplasty and ptosis repair, eyelid malposition correction, reconstruction after Mohs surgery, and management of thyroid eye disease, tearing, and dry eye. She is active nationally in ophthalmology and received the American Academy of Ophthalmology Secretariat Award in 2022 for her leadership and service.

Dr. Jewel Sandy is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Eye Doctors of Washington. She provides surgical and non-surgical care for conditions of the eyelids, tear ducts and orbit, helping patients improve comfort, eye health, and facial function while preserving a natural appearance. Her expertise includes eyelid and facial reconstruction for drooping eyelids and eyelid malposition, skin cancer reconstruction, tear duct obstruction and excessive tearing, and comprehensive care for thyroid eye disease. She also offers cosmetic eyelid and mid-face rejuvenation and office-based treatments such as Botox and fillers, as well as therapeutic injections for facial movement disorders like hemifacial spasm. Originally from Sierra Leone, Dr. Sandy is deeply committed to expanding access to quality eye care and leads medical mission trips that provide sight-restoring and oculoplastic procedures while supporting local training. She completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham/Callahan Eye Hospital and fellowship training in global ophthalmology and oculofacial plastic surgery.
