Dr. Sidharth Puri is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical care of retinal and vitreous disease. A New Orleans native, Dr. Puri completed undergraduate studies at Cornell University, earned his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and trained in ophthalmology at the University of Louisville, where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed a vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the University of California at Irvine. At Ochsner, he also participates in research and public health initiatives aimed at improving access to high-quality eye care.

Daniel R. Salisbury, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon with the Vitreoretinal Institute serving patients in Baton Rouge and surrounding communities. He provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for retinal and vitreous disorders, combining advanced diagnostics with leading-edge laser, pharmacologic, and microsurgical techniques. Dr. Salisbury graduated with honors from the University of Georgia before earning his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed an internship and ophthalmology residency at Tulane University, where he was selected as Chief Resident. Dr. Mallika K. Doss is a vitreoretinal surgeon who treats complex conditions affecting the retina and vitreous, with a focus on preserving and restoring vision through individualized care. She evaluates vision changes such as distortion, floaters, and sudden vision loss and helps patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options at every step. Her clinical expertise includes age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusive disease, retinal tears and detachments, macular holes, and macular pucker. She also performs secondary intraocular lens implantation for dislocated lenses and provides both medical and surgical retina care when advanced treatment is needed. Dr. Doss earned her M.D. at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine after completing a B.S. in Biochemistry at Southern Methodist University. She completed internship and ophthalmology residency training at the University of Texas at Houston, followed by a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She has also served on the LSU Health Sciences Center faculty, supporting resident and fellow education.

Dr. Jorge Jiménez is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in the medical and surgical care of disorders of the macula, retina, and vitreous. Dr. Jiménez earned his B.S. in Biochemistry with a piano performance concentration at Millsaps College (magna cum laude) and received his M.D. from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also completed an internal medicine internship and an ophthalmology residency, serving as chief resident. He then completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he also served as a clinical assistant professor. Dr. Jiménez is fluent in Spanish and welcomes patients seeking compassionate, expert retina care.

Dr. Brett Budden is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina and vitreous. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University and Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, serving as chief resident in his senior year, and then completed a two-year retina fellowship at Tulane University Medical Center and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Budden cares for patients with diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema, macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments, vitreous hemorrhage, macular hole and macular pucker, and other conditions that can cause symptoms like flashes or floaters. He continues to work part-time at the VA Hospital, where he helps train LSU and Tulane ophthalmology residents while providing retina care for Louisiana’s veteran community. He has practiced in the greater New Orleans and Metairie area since 2018.

Dr. Jordan M. Burnham is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal conditions. A Baton Rouge native, he returned to Louisiana in 2018 after completing more than a decade of medical and surgical training. His goal is to provide modern and compassionate care for patients throughout the greater Baton Rouge area. Dr. Burnham completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and trained in ophthalmology at the same institution. He also completed an internal medicine internship and his medical education at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. He is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. His clinical interests include floaters, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal detachments, and he performs advanced vitreoretinal procedures such as scleral buckle surgery and vitrectomy when appropriate. He is also involved in community outreach efforts, including work with Blind Grace and participation in international medical mission trips.

Adam C. Janot, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal disease and surgery. He completed ophthalmology residency training at the Medical College of Virginia in 2016 and then pursued fellowship training in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Stanley Truhlsen Eye Institute. He joined VRI in 2018 and serves as Medical Director, bringing modern diagnostic testing and the latest pharmaceutical, laser, and surgical options to help preserve vision. David L. Kilpatrick, MD is an ophthalmologist specializing in retinal care for conditions that can threaten both central and peripheral vision.
