Dr. Derek P. Bitner is a board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist who cares for children with eye conditions that can affect vision development and quality of life. He has been seeing patients at Wolfe Eye Clinic since 2016 and is known for combining careful, kid-friendly care with modern ophthalmic technology. He is also fluent in Spanish, helping more families feel comfortable and understood during visits. Dr. Bitner treats pediatric ophthalmology concerns including strabismus and amblyopia, and he also evaluates pediatric glaucoma and cataracts. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona and completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. He trained in ophthalmology residency at the Dean McGee Eye Institute (University of Oklahoma Health Science Center) and completed a Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus Fellowship at the Duke University Eye Center. He participates in clinical research through PEDIG and has presented on topics such as amblyopia and strabismus.

Dr. Lindsay De Andrade is an ophthalmologist who cares for children and adults with eye alignment and vision development concerns. She values the relationships she builds with patients and parents, and she emphasizes early intervention to help protect vision for the long term. She earned her medical degree from the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency training at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. She then pursued fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA) Stein Eye Institute. Dr. De Andrade evaluates and treats conditions such as amblyopia, strabismus, myopia, eye infections, and optic nerve disorders, and she performs strabismus surgery when appropriate.

Dr. Ferhat Evliyaoglu is a pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus specialist who cares for both children and adults with misaligned eyes, amblyopia, pediatric cataract, and complex strabismus. As a clinical assistant professor with University of Iowa Health Care, he combines thoughtful communication with evidence-based treatment and a calm, family-centered approach. He especially enjoys seeing a child’s confidence and vision improve after the right diagnosis and intervention. Dr. Evliyaoglu earned his medical degree at Hacettepe University School of Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency at Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital in Istanbul. He pursued subspecialty fellowships in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Akron Children’s Hospital and at Emory University. He provides care in both the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and the Stead Family Children’s Hospital, and is fluent in English and Turkish.
