Dr. Scott Walter is a vitreoretinal surgeon and ocular oncology specialist who cares for complex diseases of the retina and choroid. Dr. Matthew Nicholas is a vitreoretinal physician specializing in the management of medical retinal diseases, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein and artery occlusions, central serous chorioretinopathy, and retinal tears. He also frequently treats patients with intraocular inflammation (uveitis), cataracts, and glaucoma. Before ophthalmology, he attended Yale College, where he majored in physics, and earned both his MD and PhD through the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His PhD research focused on novel microscope development and biophysical analysis of dynein, a molecular motor protein. He is the author of numerous scientific publications. Dr. Nicholas is on the faculty at Hartford Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
