Dr. Jennifer D. Davidson is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon at Alabama Ophthalmology Associates. She treats the full spectrum of pediatric eye conditions—including strabismus, amblyopia, pediatric cataracts, congenital glaucoma, and nasolacrimal duct obstruction—and provides expert care for adults with eye-muscle disorders and double vision. A Mississippi native, she completed her undergraduate degree with honors at Vanderbilt University and earned her medical degree with honors from the University of Mississippi. After an internship in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, she finished ophthalmology residency at UT Southwestern and advanced fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Jackson treats amblyopia, congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction, pediatric cataracts and glaucoma, and retinopathy of prematurity, and offers eye muscle surgery when needed. She partners closely with families to explain diagnoses, outline treatment choices, and design age-appropriate care plans that fit school and home life. Patients and parents appreciate her steady communication style and her focus on long-term visual development, binocular alignment, and practical goals for everyday activities.

Dr. Julie Kiessling Calderwood is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist and adult strabismus surgeon serving North Alabama. She cares for children with amblyopia, blocked tear ducts, chalazia, and other pediatric eye conditions, and treats adults with double vision and eye misalignment. Her evaluations emphasize comfortable, single-vision outcomes through conservative measures such as prism therapy and, when needed, precise eye-muscle surgery. Dr. Calderwood completed ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center / Hamilton Eye Institute with training at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Practicing in Huntsville since 2015, she is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
